Since 2009 we have been providing a conscientious and efficient service to businesses, homes and landlords
Rats are a destructive rodent that carry disease, like all rodents they have teeth that constantly grow, so they constantly have to chew things. In fact the name rodent comes from the Latin word 'rodere' to gnaw, or eat away. This can result in damage to your home or your stock if you are a business. Plus, of course, the reputational harm of having a rat infestation.
We are a discrete company that aims to solve problems with the minimum of fuss and disruption. Critical in solving a rodent problem in is an accurate pre-treatment survey. Frequently our behaviour can have a big impact in encouraging pests. It is in no-one's interest to kill a few rats or mice only to have the problem recur, within a week or two.
The two photos below illustrate the importance of a good survey. On the left we can see the tell-tale signs of mouse activity, and on the right a mouse entry point found at the back of a bin store, which resulted in an infestation two rooms away.
For example a common way rats will enter a building is through a breached drain, tunnelling under the house and climbing up the inside of a cavity wall to access the loft. Through the use of a drain camera we can identify if such a breach exists. Rats are by nature cautious and difficult to poison, by applying our knowledge a successful eradication can be achieved.
Mice and rats will frequently seek shelter during cold spells many of our call-outs for mice occur in winter. By diligent proofing and trapping we can solve the problem and not have it recur later.
A wasp nest will typically hold around 5000 wasps, Wasps nests can occur almost anywhere, we were called last year to one inside an unused Flymo lawn mower (see picture) They can be found in trees, inside lofts, in garden sheds or even in the ground.
We offer a quick call out service and can usually have the problem solved within an hour or two from the time of the phonecall.
We love our pets but sometimes they pick up a stowaway or two. Or if you have moved into a formally empty property only to be greeted by a charging army of fleas call us. We have a 100% record of success at solving flea problems.
Bedbugs can arrive in your home on your suitcases when you return from a holiday or from student digs. Frequently they arrive on second hand goods and furniture. They will bite you to obtain a blood meal to enable them to grow and lay eggs.
If not tackled quickly they will spread to other bedrooms in your house or hotel. Thoroughness is vital in solving a bedbug problem. As you can see from our images they have been found in clothes, inside books, inside furniture.
Using the correct chemicals in the correct way will solve the problem. Many online cures for bedbugs offer a brief respite, I have heard of people being told to use lemon juice or bleach. None of these 'treatments' will work effectively. A thorough chemical treatment along with good housekeeping is necessary for removal of the problem. Usually 2 treatments are required.
We have successfully excluded birds from a number of businesses and properties. We using discrete plastic coated wires to prevent roosting on shopfronts and ledges, these systems exclude the birds without ruining the look of your building. We use high access equipment such as a cherry picker to safely access the work area.
Each adult pigeon will produce 12kgs of guano per year, so it's no wonder they make such a mess. Pigeon dung contains a number of harmful bacteria including e coli, listeria and salmonella and therefore should not be tackled without protective clothing and a respiratory mask.
Homes with a pigeon problem attract a number of maintenance issues including blocked guttering as well as rendering your property less attractive to buyers or renters.
We have successfully culled pigeons and put measures in place to prevent their return.
Pigeons love solar panels, often nesting underneath them. We have fitted a mesh to many solar panels to prevent pigeons from nesting under them.
We use specialised UV stabilised clips to hold the mesh in place and as you can see it creates a neat barrier.
Shopfronts: Discrete anti roosting measures using post and wire systems and nets are very successful at keeping pigeons away from your business. Keeping pigeon free does not have mean your property looks like a prison. Pigeons sitting on your signage will make a terrible mess of the street outside your premises
Seagulls are part of life at the seaside. From April to September they will build nests and raise their chicks, looking for any suitable venue including chimneys and flat roofs. Once chicks are present gulls have a tendency to become aggressive. We have installed many nets on flat roofs and spikes behind chimneys. Our methods DO NOT HARM seagulls, just prevent them from nesting or roosting.
Seagulls are a protected species and so we are very careful to ensure our measures do not harm them. For example a poorly installed net could trap a seagull, we have years of experience to fall back on to ensure a professional, cruelty free solution.
Some companies will advertise stating that they can remove nests and chicks from your property. Under certain extreme circumstances a nest or eggs can be removed, but once eggs have hatched the chicks must be allowed to fledge before proofing measures can be undertaken. Anyone removing nests without very good reason risks prosecution, and rightly so, in our opinion.
Squirrels can enter your loft from nearby trees. Like all rodents they constantly gnaw and will cause damage or potentially a fire by chewing through a wire etc. The photos relate to a squirrel in a loft in Birchington.
They had chewed through the fascia to gain entry, a mother squirrel then had young, and all of whom chewed the joists and beams in the loft, driving the owner (a pilot instructor) to distraction and keeping him awake at night. The trees had been cut back but the squirrels had already got in. Ultra violet tracking dust was used, this fluoresces under a UV torch to identify what the problem was, and trapped it using a Fenn trap for a fast and humane dispatch.
